Task Bar Hero Rune Priority Guide

Runes are permanent account progression. The best early route unlocks options that help every build before spending heavily on narrow damage bonuses.
Recommended Route
| Stage | Priority | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Rune of Command and the extra hero slots | A second and third hero add complete combat roles. |
| Early | Rune of Awakening | Unlocking second skills changes what each hero can do. |
| Early-mid | XP and gold routes | Faster levels and more gold accelerate the rest of the tree. |
| Mid | Rune of Brevity | Stage Wave Count -1 can improve clear time across repeated farming runs. |
| As needed | Broad damage, movement, and survival | Fix the real wall instead of following one rigid route. |
| Late | Specialized hero or damage nodes | Commit after the main party and farming plan are stable. |
Command Before Small Stats
Rune of Command routes deserve priority because party capacity changes the whole run. A third hero can add healing, wave clear, a frontline, or boss damage. Small percentage nodes rarely create the same immediate flexibility.
Solo Ranger is the exception, not a reason to skip Command. Solo farming concentrates experience on Ranger; unlocked party slots remain important for bosses, roster leveling, and any Q3 balance change that reduces the value of one-hero routes.
Awakening Enables Real Builds
Rune of Awakening gives heroes access to their second skill. This can matter more than a small attack node because it opens healing, buffs, AoE, or another damage pattern. Unlock it before over-investing in a single stat path.
Why Brevity Matters for Farming
Rune of Brevity reduces the stage wave count by one. Its value comes from repetition: fewer waves can shorten every successful farming clear. It is most useful when the stage is already stable; it will not fix a Ranger who lacks enough speed or a party that dies immediately.
Compare actual clear time before and after unlocking it. The highest unlocked stage is not automatically the best farm if an earlier stage produces more clears per hour.
Choose Combat Nodes by Failure Type
| What stops the run | Rune direction |
|---|---|
| Ranger or party cannot act first | Movement and attack tempo |
| Team survives but clears slowly | Broad damage and attack speed |
| Frontline collapses | HP, resistance, and defensive support |
| Progress feels slow between walls | XP and gold |
| Inventory pressure blocks long idle runs | Storage and containment routes |
Q3 Roadmap Warning
The official 2026 roadmap lists new character runes in addition to the current Rune Tree. Their costs, reset rules, and effects are not live in v1.00.28. Do not call a current route future-proof or save a specific material unless official patch notes confirm it.
See the 2026 Roadmap Guide for the confirmed plan and remaining unknowns.
