Task Bar Hero Torment 3-9 speed farm build

Torment 3-9 is the current endgame farming benchmark for many Task Bar Hero players. The goal is not simply to clear it once. A useful farm must repeat without random wipes and finish quickly enough to beat an easier stage on rewards per hour.

The route below began with community clears after v1.00.27, but it now needs to be judged under v1.01.00 or later. That update reduced ranged-monster damage, improved Hunter and Slayer, and raised the melee Armor ceiling. It did not add a new class or stage, so the farming target remains the same while more party variants deserve testing.

Quick Build Answer

SlotJobCore skillsMain targets
SorcererOpens each wave with area damageLightning; optional second skill only if it does not delay the cycle75% cooldown reduction, enough AoE and lightning damage to clear the wave opener
RangerFinishes survivors and keeps the party movingRapid Fire + Piercing ArrowAttack speed, physical damage, movement speed
PriestBuffs and controls formation paceBlessing of Might + SanctuaryCooldown reduction, survival, movement speed tuned to the party

Pre-v1.01.00 community examples reported roughly 70–85 second clears, but treat that as an old reference range rather than a current promise. Frame rate, enemy timing, equipment rolls, movement caps, and whether Sorcerer actually removes the opening group all change the result.

Sorcerer: Clear the Start of the Wave

The fast route depends on Sorcerer deleting or heavily damaging the first cluster before the formation stalls. Start with these checkpoints:

  • Reach the 75% cooldown-reduction cap.
  • Add AoE until Lightning consistently reaches the intended group; do not sacrifice so much damage that enemies survive.
  • Use lightning damage, cast speed, and attack damage after the cooldown requirement is solved.
  • Test one skill before adding a second. Another animation can reduce consistency even when its tooltip damage looks good.

One reported 70-second setup used about 4,000 attack damage, 400%+ AoE, 75% cooldown reduction, and Lightning only. These are community reference numbers, not universal minimums.

Ranger: Movement and Cleanup

Ranger should arrive quickly and remove anything Sorcerer leaves alive. Prioritize:

  1. Enough physical damage to finish the target immediately.
  2. Attack speed around the point where Rapid Fire and Piercing Arrow cycle reliably.
  3. Movement speed without replacing every useful damage roll.
  4. A small survival layer if unavoidable hits are ending otherwise good runs.

Community clears often show attack speed above 7 and very high movement speed, but a slower Ranger with better damage can outperform a fast Ranger that needs extra attacks.

Priest: Do Not Let Support Slow the Run

Priest is present for Blessing of Might, emergency sustain, and formation control. If Priest constantly trails behind, the party waits. If Priest runs too far forward, the formation can pull enemies at the wrong time.

Use enough movement speed to keep the group together, then build cooldown reduction and survival. Sanctuary is the safer second skill for repeated farming; if the run is already stable, compare it against a lighter setup rather than assuming more support is always faster.

A Five-Run Test

Run Torment 3-9 five times without changing equipment and record:

  • Completion time for every run
  • Any death or retry
  • Which wave caused the delay
  • Whether Sorcerer cleared the opening group
  • Whether Ranger or Priest broke formation timing

Use the median clear time, not the fastest screenshot. If an earlier stage completes much faster with no failures, it may still produce more chests and useful drops per hour.

Repeat the same test after every balance or recovery hotfix. Compare Torment 3-9 against a fast lower stage such as 1-3 using the same active time; stage number alone does not prove better rewards per hour.

Post-v1.01.00 Alternatives

  • Test Hunter when one dangerous target or surviving ranged enemy controls the clear time. Compare the shorter Explosive Bolt cycle with Shock Bolt's stronger scaling.
  • Test Slayer only when movement and sustain are stable. Crushing Blow is the focused-damage route; Ground Slam is the grouped-enemy comparison.
  • Do not use infinite Axe Spin examples: the July 30 hotfix fixed that Multistrike Enhancement interaction.
  • Keep the Ranger/Sorcerer/Priest route when it still wins the five-run median. A balance patch creates alternatives, not an automatic replacement.

When to Use a Safer Alternative

Switch back to Solo Ranger when extra heroes consistently disrupt the opening. Use a conventional three-hero progression team when characters still need levels or Torment 3-9 fails too often. The current speed build is a farming endpoint, not the route every account should force.

For staged upgrades, continue with the Level 1-100 Progression Guide and Rune Priority.
