Best Heroes in Task Bar Hero by Progression, Bosses, and Farming

A current Task Bar Hero tier list split by leveling, bosses, stable farming, Torment speed routes, and F2P value instead of one misleading overall rank.

Task Bar Hero hero ranking by game mode

Task Bar Hero does not have one hero that is best for every account and every stage. Priest can be the best progression support, Ranger can be the best Torment farming carry, and Sorcerer can be the fastest wave opener. A useful tier list must start with the job the player needs solved.

This ranking uses the live v1.01.02 environment checked July 29, 2026. v1.01.00 strengthened Hunter and Slayer, adjusted Knight and Priest, raised the melee Armor cap to 85%, and reduced ranged-monster damage. These placements are a current decision guide, not a permanent balance claim.

What v1.01.00 Changed

  • Hunter now moves at 850, activates Explosive Bolt after 5 basic attacks and Shock Bolt after 8, and has much stronger Shock Bolt scaling.
  • Slayer now moves at 900, activates Crushing Blow after 4 basic attacks and Ground Slam after 7, and gains more late passive HP.
  • Knight and Priest received passive corrections; Priest now moves at 770.
  • Knight, Priest, and Slayer can reach 85% Armor-based physical damage reduction instead of 75%.

Torment speed farmingRanger, SorcererRanger solo preserves tempo; Ranger + Sorcerer can clear faster when timing and gear are ready.
F2P account valuePriest, Ranger, SorcererAll three can form a complete progression team without paid Hunter or Slayer DLC.
Melee preferenceSlayer, then Knightv1.01.00 improves Slayer's movement and skill tempo; Knight remains the more defensive option.

Leveling Tier List

TierHeroesPlayer-facing reason
SPriestFree DLC, sustain, buffs, and a practical frontline role.
ARanger, Sorcerer, HunterStrong complementary damage; Hunter's v1.01.00 buffs materially improve its boss and ranged-DPS value.
BSlayerStronger after v1.01.00, but still asks for melee gear and sustain.
CKnightForgiving early, yet low damage makes later clears slower.

Endgame Farming Tier List

TierHeroesPlayer-facing reason
SRanger, SorcererRanger dominates many speed and solo routes; Sorcerer can remove whole wave openings.
APriest, HunterPriest stabilizes fast routes; Hunter's new movement and skill timing justify fresh endgame testing.
BSlayerImproved movement and activation counts help, but melee positioning still makes it gear-dependent.
CKnightSurvival alone rarely solves the current Torment speed requirement.

How to Choose Each Hero

Priest

Choose Priest when the party dies before damage rotations finish. Build HP, damage absorption, cooldown reduction, resistance, and enough movement speed to keep formation. Do not use rankings based on the old Wrath of Heaven damage or Blessing of Might stacking behavior corrected in v1.00.15.

Ranger

Choose Ranger for focused physical damage, speed farming, and solo normal-stage routes. Attack speed, physical damage, and movement speed must work together. A Ranger that reaches enemies first but needs several extra attacks is not a finished speed build.

Sorcerer

Choose Sorcerer when groups, not one boss, control the clear time. Cooldown reduction and AoE matter only while Fireball, Lightning, Ice Orb, or another chosen skill still deals enough damage. Current Torment 3-9 routes often use Sorcerer as the wave opener.

Hunter

Choose Hunter when you own the DLC and need ranged single-target pressure or prefer the crossbow kit. After v1.01.00, re-test Shock Bolt and Explosive Bolt before relying on an older ranking; gear availability should still decide the swap rather than the paid label.

Slayer

Choose Slayer if you want a melee damage route and already have sustain and equipment. v1.01.00 improves movement, HP passives, Crushing Blow, and Ground Slam timing, but entering melee range still makes weak gear less forgiving.

Knight

Choose Knight when a new account needs a simple frontline or when existing Knight equipment is much better than every alternative. Avoid pouring rare materials into Knight only because an older list called it S-tier; current endgame reports consistently favor damage and tempo.

Three Practical Teams

  1. F2P progression: Priest + Sorcerer + Ranger.
  2. Stable boss attempt: Priest + Ranger + Hunter or Sorcerer, depending on available gear.
  3. Torment farming: Solo Ranger, or Sorcerer + Ranger + Priest after tuning movement and wave timing.
