Task Bar Hero pet farming guide

This page is the route-testing companion to the complete pet location table. Use it after choosing a target pet to measure whether your current party can finish the 5,000-kill requirement efficiently.

Five-Run Route Test

Before leaving the game running, complete five measured runs with the same party, stage, difficulty, and client version.

RecordWhy it matters
Pet counter before and afterConfirms the target enemy is actually progressing the unlock.
Median clear timeAvoids choosing a route from one unusually fast run.
Failed runsOne death-heavy route can lose to a lower difficulty.
Target kills gainedShows progress per loop instead of total enemies killed.
Gold, EXP, and useful dropsPrevents pet progress from stopping every other upgrade.

Estimate Time to 5,000 Kills

Use your measured counter change rather than a copied community estimate:

remaining kills / median target kills per run x median run time

This is an estimate, not a guaranteed completion time. Mailbox checks, server delay, deaths, and party changes can alter the result.

Difficulty Does Not Need to Be High

Community documentation reports that pet-kill progress carries across difficulties. Choose the difficulty with the best repeatable target kills per minute, not the highest label. If a lower difficulty removes failures and shortens the loop, it is usually the better pet route.

When to Pause Pet Farming

  • The counter does not move after several confirmed kills.
  • The party fails often enough to require manual restarts.
  • A Rune Tree slot, weapon, or armor upgrade would improve every route.
  • The pet route produces little useful EXP, gold, or gear.
  • A hotfix changes enemy behavior, chests, or server response.

Practical Route Rule

Use one stable route until the counter target is complete. Change only one variable at a time—party, stage, or difficulty—so the result stays readable.
